East Carolina Case Management (ECCM) focuses on the patient/client to provide services to help the patient recover from an illness or injury to help him/her recover to the greatest extent possible, return to or continue with gainful employment to benefit both the patient/client & society as a whole. ECCM focuses on the positive aspects of what the patient/client can do, using a positive practice approach to recovery & life in general. ECCM uses an individualized assessment to develop & implement case management plans to meet the needs of the patient/client & referral source. Integrity, sincerity, professionalism, empathy, organization, & pro-activeness are the core components essential to the East Carolina Case Management process.
Foreseen objectives are as follows:
- Pro-active facilitation of cost-effective, specialized care focused on the client for achievement of positive, effective outcomes.
- Facilitate the provision of quality, cost-effective care in the least restrictive environment possible to effect positive outcomes in the lives of our clients and effect significant savings for the referral source, to benefit foremost the client and society in general.
- Planning is an integral component of the East Carolina Case Management total care management process.
- It is pertinent to facilitate rapport and communication between the patient/client, physician, employer, attorney, referral source, and all members of the healthcare team to communicate the patient/client’s individual specific needs.
ECCM is an independently owned and operated medical case management agency that focuses on specific needs of clients. The corporation provides nursing case management services. The CEO is a registered nurse (RN) with twenty-eight years of case management experience, specializing in nursing case management of job-related injuries. The CEO graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has experience as an Occupational Health Coordinator of a major medical center and medical center satellite industries and laboratories as well as experience in the establishment and management of offsite Industrial Health Programs for major industry. The CEO is knowledgeable in coordinating medical services and light duty return to work programs with experience also in hospital intensive and coronary care, home health, as well as psychiatric care. The CEO is certified by the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist and is a Certified Case Manager by standards of criteria of the Commission for Case Manager Certification.
